Pre-conference sessions

Ahead of the European Health Management Conference 2026, a series of pre-conference sessions will take place on 8 and 9 June 2026, offering participants the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, develop practical skills, and engage in focused exchanges with peers and experts.
Designed as interactive and practice-oriented learning experiences, these sessions complement the main conference programme by providing dedicated spaces for discussion, hands-on learning, and professional networking. Participants can explore key themes in health management, sustainability, primary care transformation, and health system governance through workshops, field experiences, and expert-led discussions.
The pre-conference programme includes four specialised activities:
PhD Lab
An intensive workshop for doctoral students designed to strengthen research design and publication strategies. Participants will present their PhD projects, receive feedback from senior faculty and peers, and engage in discussions linking academic research with real-world health management practice.

Primary care managing experience
An interactive workshop exploring practical responses to emerging challenges in primary care services. Through dialogue and case-based reflection, participants will examine leadership approaches, organisational innovations, and strategies currently implemented within the Catalonia primary care system.

Net-zero healthcare field experience
A practice-based learning session combining an experiential Carbon Emissions Learning Lab with a site visit to a green hospital. Participants will explore decision-making tools for healthcare decarbonisation and observe how sustainability and planetary health principles are implemented in hospital operations.
